Yoga is great against stress, but you can’t exactly drop into your favourite yoga pose in the middle of the office without risking a call from HR.
1- Box Breathing
Super simple and mega effective.
- Inhale for 4 seconds.
- Hold the breath in for 4 seconds.
- Exhale for 4 seconds.
- Hold the breath out for 4 seconds.
Repeat at least 5 times.
Holding the breath has a way of stopping the rush of thoughts in its tracks.
2- Mindful Minute
Stop fixating on the screen and let your gaze wander around.
Notice the objects, the furniture, the people, the sounds, the temperature of the air… without focusing on anything in particular.
The idea is to take you out of the chaos inside your head and into the present moment.
3- Focus Boost
If you’re struggling to focus on the task at hand, do the opposite of the previous technique.
Find one thing to focus your gaze on. Fixate your eyes on it and notice every single detail (plants are great for that!)
It will help settle your monkey mind and bring you back to the present moment.
